Some really old King instruments had center-rise top caps, rather than the felt-insert type. The felt-insert type is what they make, today. To the best of my knowledge, the casing threads and the rise are the same for both, so you can get someone to order you some brand new top caps, and bottom caps for that matter, from Sonia at U.M.I. in Eastlake, Ohio. The bits haven't changed, as far as I know, and are still available from them, too.
I don't really understand what you are trying to do, but I am trying to answer the questions that you are asking.
