I had a problem with slow valves when I had my Miraphone 186 5u. I cleaned and oiled all the valves had them acid dipped etc. all to no avail. Then I took out(with great effort) the rod that goes through all of the valves,(the one that the springs are around). It was black with sticky gunk. I was probably the first to clean it in 20 years. As soon as I cleaned and oiled that and the valves that it went through, the valves were very fast.
