I agree with "fewest rrrrr's" (whatever) that [with all due respect to Ted Cox] it would be best to unre-write the Strauss, if indeed one was interested in playing it.
I would encourage orchestras (if this were possible) to abandon the V.W. and French horn solos for a couple of decades.
