- Am I the only one who hasn't ever cracked a smile at any of those "mime" pops/children's concerts?
- Are these shows (hopefully) funnier in front of the orchestra than they are from behind the music stand?
- Do these make money?
- Is this a "last gasp" type of thing to sell orchestral music to audiences?
- If audiences have to be "educated" (by annoying "music-explaining" conductors, mime stunts, or whatever) to "appreciate" the music, isn't that a hopelessly uphill fight?
- How do these mime acts slip their way into orchestra children's/pops schedules - though aggressive marketing to orchestra managers and/or orchestra education personnel, or do orchestra managers actually solicit these acts?
