These are some good suggestions for a good 3/4 horn. I have to ask a couple of questions, and I hope they is taken in the right spirit.
Does his lack of use of his left hand actually inhibit the ability to balance or lift medium weight?
Does he have any control of the fingers?
Both suggested horns to this point, (yamaha 621 and weril copy) are great 3/4 horns. They are both left pointing horns and front valve setups. An upright valve right pointing bell balances differently than a left pointing instrument. I would be interested in answers to the 2 questions before suggesting an answer.
