I'm sure this is moot in that you've probably already tried this and thus know from experience, but I have to believe SOMEONE would rather give a 6 figure grant to document anyone's teaching than to study gay indians or to fill a bottle with urine.
Not even the National Endowment, even, but I'm sure you could get some good ol' pork barrel spending from someone somewhere. Heaven knows it seems everyone else gets it.
