I own the 98, and have played it on a 5/4 Rudy, 4/4 Kalison, and most recently on my newly acquired Mel Culbertson. Aside from the somewhat humorous "how-to" instructions found on Dave's site, that mouthpiece is GREAT. Centers better than any other mouthpiece I've tried (a bunch) and has a full-cored sound that I needed. I'd like to try the smaller version for quintet work, just for kicks. The 98, as I recall, is the re-make "better, faster, higher" of the 94. I got a real deal on mine (around 200 bucks) for what they normally go for. But I have been incredibly pleased. Here at UW-La Crosse (WI), my colleague on trumpet owns two Monettes, along with a toolbox full of mouthpieces, and he said that there's nothing else for him....
