Coming from a drum corps background (YIKES!) but.. I've found that Blistex DCT (comes in a pink round container, about the size of 20 half dollars stacks on top of each other) works well even when not used during the drum corps season. Apply and let it set, then wipe it ALL off before you play. Does the trick for me every time.
