The mouthpiece visualizer is a good idea if somebody hasn't done this. I started on euphonium and then added tenor trombone later (now mainly bass trombone). I always had the mouthpiece skewed to the right because of how I held the euphonium. (This isn't a good thing, that's just how I did it.) I didn't find out until much later on, by using a mouthpiece rim with no cup and looking in the mirror, that my aperture is actually to the left of center. I moved the mouthpiece over and my sound improved immediately. It only took two or three weeks for the muscles on the left side of my face to adapt.

I may have that teardrop shape also, plus I have a couple of teeth that are a little crooked pointing out, right at that spot.
