Rick, the low B occurs in the Concert Band arrangement of "Mars" from the Planets. And it occurs at the start of "Hobbits" from de Meij's Lord of the Rings suite.
When you said you've never seen the low B, I found myself thinking "gee, I haven't either" so I went into my (minscule) library and found these two. So yes the B does exist, but it is definitely quite rare.
