There have been times that a person sounded better on a MW 2155 than they did on the MW 2000. Yes, there can be some stock 2155 tubas that play and sound like the typical 2000. The wrap of the branches is the same. The valve section has one piece braces instead of 3 piece bracing. The 5t rotor is angled differently and the wrap of that vavle's tubing is different. Just got a MW 2000 and a silver plated 2155. You ought to come to the store and try them for yourself. Jay Hahs is a good example of someone who sounded and played better on his 2155 than he did on the 2000. When you find theright horn, it picks you Matt.
