Very well spoken, sir! In my opinion, small ensembles are the best way to "make your own opportunities". Most of my paid playing is with a local brass quintet, with a lesser percentage of pit orchestra/pick-up quintet work with several area churches. It is nowhere close to full time employment, but it helps build the "new tuba fund". My primary occupation is Deputy Sheriff specializing in civil process/enforcement. I get to do two things that I truly love. Find your passion, whatever it is, and go for it!
