I believe that that would have been Ron Pisk. . . - I can never spell or pronounce his name. He was an American, and often times went on the VPO tours as opposed to the other Vienna State Opera tubaist. Ron died rather young, just a few years ago, but I don't much about that. I met him in Vienna clear back in 1981. At that time, he was playing on some kind of standard model, rotary valve M-W CC. Later, he played on a Hirsbrunner piston CC - a big 4/4. With Hirsbrunner, I never what models are what, but I'm sure that plenty of other folks around here do. All I can tell you is that Ron was a very nice and cordial man. He was willing to give me lessons in Vienna, but I had to inform that I didn't a horn with me. Ooops! I was traveling all around Europe at that time.
