Thanks Roger, I have a 181 that is about 2 years old and I have been thinking about having the modification done to the 1st valve slide assembly, until, I found a mp that really works well for me on this tuba. The RM9 with 8.0mm backbore brings the G at the top of the staff in tune with 1st valve and also brings the C in the staff to within 10 cents and lipable. I can choose to use alternate fingerings as well depending on the situation. The 6th valve is VERY handy and a great asset to this horn. I really like the sound of the gold brass. This is a very good tuba for quintet and the high orchestral stuff. I would like to try out the new Rudi's in the future to see how they compare.

Thanks,

Russ Dickman
