you have the opportunity every tuba player dreams of in high school. I have found this one piece I used for UIL solo and ensemble and almost got my band director to play it. The Piece is by Don Haddad and it is called Suite for Tuba and the concert arrangement is for Tuba and Band. It sounds pretty good, the band parts are not hard and if you only do the first movement, it has a farelydecent begining, a slow and lyrical middle section. Full of opportunities to express yourself. And, it has a revised ending with some more opportunities to show off in the end with your high range. Check with your lesson instructor, and see if you can get your hands on a photo copy of the part. The other two movements are fun, but the first is the best. Enjoy.
