People will tell you all kinds of things about playing in an orchestra. You can spend a lot of money getting the optimum orchestral tuba but when it comes down to it you just have to get experience and figure out what kind of sound you want. I currently own two CC's, a Miraphone super 186 and a VMI Neptune. Both can be used in an orchestra but I prefer the sound of the neptune. If you want to sound like Mr. Pokorny or Mr. Deck then the 56j and Pt20 are not horns I would look at. However, there are many players playing successfully on similar size horns. My cousin owns a pt20 and my former teacher owns one and I would not recommend either one of them, but they work for both of them. It's all personal preference.
