keep in mind this is one man's experienced opinion, if you're looking for a suitable tuba to be used in an orchestral setting (and an all-round horn?) I would definitely go with a 4/4, but maybe something a little bit bigger than a PT-20. A Hirsbrunner HB-21, or 2-P, or a Meinl Weston 2155 or 2000 (there are a few others), might be good horns you could possibly keep and not be looking to sell a little bit further down the road.
