I don't think it's a Martin, as someone suggested, because the bottom bow on my old Martin is more square than the one in the photo. It does closely resemble my old York. Mine was a 4-valve top action, but it did have a double loop at the bottom of the 3rd valve tubing which was similar to (but not exactly the same as) the one in the photo. Something about that old York always made it look bigger in photos, probably because it was closer to the camera than I was. The man holding the tuba in your postcard is probably a bit on the small side, too, at least by today's standards.
A year or so ago somebody posted a catalog picture of a York "Monster" in BBb. If you can find it that may help you identify the instrument. I think they were pretty common around 1920.
