I have a set. You must go to an audiologist and get a mold of your ear made so they are custom fitted. I forget if mine are 15 decibel or 25 decibel reduction. they work well. they do take some geting used to, so you should practice with them a bit. I wouldn't use them on a gig intially without practicing with them. As to the claim of reducing the entire spectrum equally, well they are better than regular foam plugs or such but they are not perfect. I usually use them when I play bass bone in a big band since the trumpet behind is playing right at my head or the cybal is right at ear level. Definitely beats going deaf. I also use them for indoor marching band rehearsals with the drum section! i will sometimes use them in my school band rehearsals also.
