plenty of times...but the inevitable eventually happened. The case was dropped (my guess is from the cargo door), split open and the tuba bounced across the tarmac. Up until that time I had packed the tuba carefully in the hard case (webbing strap around the case through the handle, latches gaffa taped, clothing in bell and around tuba) but this was an extreme last minute trip, and there was no time. At least the horn was insured, was expertly fixed and I got a new fibreglass case with wheels!
