I had an old York with satin finish. As it is slightly textured, there are infinitely more places for dirt and tarnish to hang out, thus making it harder to clean. Perhaps if it's maintained in pristine condition from the start this wouldn't be a problem.
The new ones with satin sure are pretty . . . .
