Hi everyone,
I have a Besson 983, and inside the bell, my silver plating is gone in two medium-sized spots. Is there any reason this wearing away might be happening? If it makes any difference, the horn is about 3 years old.
Also, I am not sure I have all of this straight in my mind, so I'm going to ask about it... What would happen if I were to have the plating entirely removed from the inside of the bell, and is this even possible? I know this would have an effect on the sound, but I'm not sure how exactly... (warmer maybe?) I like having a "unique" sound I guess, so I'm fairly open to anything as long as it doesn't "ruin" the tone.
I hope this makes a little bit of sense at least... thanks for any help!
