A gentleman in San Diego used to take an old
decorated Eb tuba to Padres games and play "charge".
His name was Jim (I don't remember the last name)
and he was known as the Tuba Man.
While touring the West Coast, we played a concert at
the bandshell in Balboa Park, San Diego. Jim was at the
performance and invited our tuba section to the bar that
he owned. At that time (this was in the 1980s) it was called
TUBA MAN'S GRAND SLAM & SPORTS NOSTALGIA BAR.
We had a great time !!
