Heres a thought. Before any football game or track meet (I throw shot) the team stops lifting 2 days before a game or meet. The same technique is used in college sports, what this allows for is after hard lifting, 2 days gives your muscles just the right ammount of time to fully recover,and grow back stronger. Maybe since you were practicing so hard, the taper affect worked on you after two days. Just a thought...
