I was a member of the Watsonville Band when We had the honer of being the first comunity band to ever play the 4th of july staff part at the White House. We were also a featured artist in the national parade evern though we didn't
submit an audition tape ! We were in Leon Peneta's home district when He was Whitehouse chief of staff and We had hosted the national assn. of concert bands convention some years before and so Were familiar to Colonel Bourgeois, then the conductor of the marine band and politicts are politicts.
I have a long narative of the day's events, if anybody would like to read it which includes how we got President Clinton to come talk to us about his history as a musician.
I couldn't attach it as I couldn't figure out how to do it !
P.S. the real reason We were able to go is that We have the worlds greatist band manager/fund raiser/travle agent-Edward Pio. Sorry, I don't have his address.
