What really is the difference in the two MW F tubas?
Also, what is a "halftone" trigger? I played a 45slp at ITEC and I am guessing that the halftone trigger is on the left hand, and it kicks out the second valve slide and changes the pitch of that valve. Why is that beneficial? Does it replace a half-step 6th valve? If so, then why does the 46SLP need six valves? There isn't a lot of help with this question on the MW website, I was hoping that someone who is familiar with both horns can give me physical differences then possibly playing differences they experienced.
