This "circular breathing" thing actually is used in certain singing styles. You know when you laugh, and you take in that gasp of air and you make that noise at the same time? When you can talk while breathing in? That's the same concept. You wouldn't use it for opera or broadway. But Bobby McFerrin uses it and maybe other vocal styles that I am not familiar with.
