Probably not a bizarre as you think.
1) Flute players are predominately female.
2) Tuba players are predominately male.
3) People with a musical interest tend to form relationships with other people with a musical interest.
4) Except in Vermont, it requires one of each for a marriage.
OK, my first wife played the bagpipes. Now, that was bizarre. We never practiced at the same time.
