You'd have to open wrap all the slides to make using the valves worth the trouble. To do that would get very complicated. (Remember that you also have to make it so the whole horn comes apart because you can't get to the inside of the valves without takeing them apart) I've heard that someone tried to make a euph with thayers, but I've never heard if it worked or even who was trying it.
