I use my 2145 for nearly everything I do. I play it in the Tennessee Philharmonic, jazz combos, brass quintet, etc. It has a very agile, big sound. Moreover, it is a very playable Meinl. I feel that some other model Meinl Westons require lots more work to achieve the same performance results as other tubas, but this is not the case with the 2145. I also own a 6/4 Nirschl "floyd-o-phone." However, the only time I choose the big CC over the 2145 is when the orchestra is doing Mahler or something similar (this may be more for looks though, you do strange things like that when you haven't yet received tenure :-))

I Love My 2145!

Hope this helps,
Mark McMahon
