This question is for anyone who has an insight on how to play this exerpt on an audition. As we all know, if the correct markings are followed, the exerpt is not in tempo, there is alot of rubato, and pause. In an audition, is it best to play the exerpt as much in tempo as possible, or to do what the part says to your best ability. On recordings I have listened to, it is done quite strictly, but on Jean Pokorney's tuba exerpt CD, it is done freely....what whould you do in an audition?
