This is the 3rd in a series of posts from me asking about the pitfalls and difficulties one may encounter in traveling with a tuba by air and in foreign countries.
One tubenet poster emailed me privately to suggest the possibility that I may encounter difficulties trying to enter countries with a tuba (or any expensive item) - suggested that I may have to post a "cash bond" that may or may not get refunded upon leaving the country - horror stories like that.
Specifically, I am planning to enter the following countries with the tuba: Denmark, Sweden, and of course Finland.
Anybody out there with specific knowledge of the customs issues in these countries. Anybody who has crossed these borders with a tuba or other valuable musical instrument. Please advise, because it will be of great help to everyone traveling to Lahti next month.
