I recently picked up a Cleveland Jr. sousaphone at a garage sale, complete with hard case. At first I thought I was looking at an E-flat but it seemed bigger than the average E-flat sousaphone. When I played it, I discovered it was indeed a BB-flat. It is neat! It is not as small as the one shown in the "Hoosiers Hot Shots" picture. It is much lighter and easier to hold than a full size brass sousaphone, plays quite easy, has a nice core/sound and projects great. The range is good from low F to F above the staff and plays pretty well in tune (considering it is a sousa with little slide manipulation).
I was quite happy with this little find. This horn would be great for outdoor dixie or german gigs.
