Most of us have had that happen somewhere down the line. I have heard many solutions that just didn't seem to work for me when I was younger including putting vaseline on your gums (from a very well known trb. teacher)and chewing your tongue, but that hurt after a while. I then got a trombone spray bottle and put half lemon juice and half water. That did the trick and a few times with that security and I didn't have to have it in my pocket any more.
