I think Rick has some great suggestions. Would just like to add, that when you feel comfortable in doing it, or even right away, you might consider getting with a good teacher. You could probably work out a schedule that would fit your available practice time (biweekly, monthly, etc.). Invaluable for getting off to a good start, helping to avoid bad habits, and obtaining guidance in overcoming any weak areas.
