Whether or not you like John Williams' music or respect his compositional skills, there is little doubt that his music will be heard frequently 50 years from now, in and out of context of the film. OTOH, how much music do we hear today from other skilled 20th century composers, such as Roger Sessions, Walter Piston, or Roy Harris?
In terms of this BBS, we tubists can rejoice in some of John Williams' scores.
