If anyone cares, I've played Charlie Krause's Miraphone 191 BBb... and it is definitely worth trying. It has a very open sound in all of its registers, its tuning is very good, and it takes just the right amount of air, so it's not stuffy, but not a gaping hole either. I played a jazz solo on it with the TCU tuba ensemble under Mr. Murrow, and boy, did it feel nice... I sure got my non-tuba friends in the audience to notice me! hehe. Just thought I'd share that. =^)
