That's a good question and plausible. Yes, there are suitable differences between the Conn and Jupiter sousies. . . If you have actually choice in the matter, get the Conn. Both are American made horns but Conn has a very full history making some quality horns. I would think of Jupiter as more of a student line of instruments meant for someone just starting to learn. Conn makes horns of all different levels. Their sousies give you that full American sound as opposed to the hard playing that you had to do on the Jupiter. Construction methods are going to be different between the two instrument companies, which I give full hand over to Conn since it's been around for a loooooooong time. So yes, I figure you feeling the difference in horns is a good thing. Continue building your music skill.
