I agree that a big bottle of lamp oil is cheaper than a comparable amount of Al Cass. I buy my Al Cass from Giardinelli's by the case. This way, if I remember correctly, it works out to about $2.00 and some change per bottle instead of the $4.50 they charge at my local music store. I've never tried lamp oil but I've heard the same comparison before.
