Two thoughts for you: First, "A vous dirae je maman" (Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star) and variations (Mozart) should make the audience feel comfortable and impress them, as well. Second, get the sheet music for "Send in the Clowns" and play the transcribed melody with no accompaniment. Very lyric piece and lends itself to this treatment.
