Alright, here is the question. Due to working all the time and living in an apartment building, I use the Tuba silent brass mute when I practice. I play a MW2155, so the openess of the horn makes all the notes accesable with the mute. The question I have is that with the mute in, the horn obviously goes sharp, really sharp. With the slide all the way out, it is still sharp. So, if I practice all the time with this mute, am I practicing bad pitch habits? When the mute is out, the pitch is fine, but I wonder that if over time it could cause some problems. Any ideas would be wonderfull.
