Recently there have been several posts concerning the actual manufacturers of certain instruments. Included among the posts have been references to the purchase of UMI and how many manufacturers would be left. This is a tuba board, but the contributors have graciously allowed us euphonium and baritone players a little room (thanks guys). It has been mentioned that much of the low brass sold under the Bach name is actually made by Yamaha. I have been looking at several instruments lately and have found a strong resemblance between the Getzen 8230 baritone, the DEG 823, and the Weril H670. There is also a striking resemblance between the Holton (LeBlanc) B302 and the Jupiter 470. Also the Holton B601 and B625 with the Jupiter 464 and 468. I don't know that the US sold instruments are made overseas, but it looks that way. Any body out there have any input? Thanks, Jim
