Fedderly has left Peabody to spend more time with his tuba business. I heard that Toby Hanks will take over, but he has his gigs at MSM and Yale so he will be a part-timer at Peabody. The loss of Fedderly hurts the brass dept at Peabody.
Rice: Not a good place for undergrads - Dave Kirk told me that he has taken only 1 undergrad in 18 years - Rice fancies itself a "conservatory" program and is not terribly focused on undergrads in the music school.
