I seriously considered the Jupiter 582S before buying my current horn. I found it very free blowing and I found the valve position comfortable. Also, it has a very high mounted lead pipe which was great for me because I am tall. I have been told that the quality on the Jupiters has been getting better and now are comparable to other similarly priced horns. Ultimately I bought a Cervany because I liked the sound and the way it played for me a little better, but only after going back and forth between the two horns many times.

I have also played the Conn and I found it too small and not very free blowing. I wouldn't call it stuffy, but it just wasn't as comfortable to play for me. Again, all of these things vary based upon the individual player. What I like someone else may hate. The only way to find out if a horn is for you is to go where someone has a number of them and try them all.
