Thanks guys. This is a composite of the things I have collected here and elsewhere on the net....

Old Dam Community Band rehearsal and performance guidelines.

1. Rehearsal begins promptly at 7pm. Please arrive a little early if you wish to warm up. Once the conductor takes the stand, he takes charge of the band and no one should play other than at his direction.
2. Rehearsal ends at approximately 9pm. There will be a break of about 10-15 minutes mid-way through the rehearsal.
3. Everyone should bring a pencil. The conductor will allow adequate time for music marking when changes are announced or reminders are needed. Music should be marked only in pencil since further marking may be required before another performance.
4. There should be no talking while the conductor is working with a section or individual.
5. Listen for tempo, listen for intonation, and watch the conductor --- ALL THE TIME. Strive to match the tempo conducted and driven by the low brass and percussion.
6. There are many reasons why a band member can't make a rehearsal or performance. Absences for family activities, work, or emergencies are fully understandable. However, please advise either the conductor or personnel manager as soon as possible of any such absence so program changes or replacement musicians can be arranged.
7. The conductor should survey the band for questions. Parts are usually not printed 100% perfectly understandable and sometimes need clarification. Extra time may be required for sections to agree on fingering, technique, and phrasing but this should take place under the direction of the conductor.
8. Band members are encouraged to sign out folders so they can practice at home but you must place your signature and phone number on the folder sign out sheet. Folders may be restricted from sign out after the last rehearsal prior to a performance so try to practice well in advance.

Anyone have something to add?
