Second the motion. BTW the VW 2 under Malcolm Sargent was live at Ravinia, July 1967. And yes Jake does sound awesome. As he does on Mahler 3rd under Martinon (1st CSO performance) and BELIEVE it, Bizet's Patria Overture from a 1947 broadcast under Defauw. The Bizet is the "Plan 9 from Outer Space" of concert overtures, but WHAT a part, and WHAT playing! I was going to post on this collection myself, but was waiting until I had heard each and every selection. Now I'm sidetracked on this PJBE thing, but hey, if you got anything left over, it's a terrific package. If nothing else, storm your school libraries and make them get it.
