Removing dents in a leadpipe is not all that hard for someone who has the skills, unless the brass is creased and torn. The real instrument repair techs can tell you far better than I.
But a replacement leadpipe is not all that expensive. I've been quoted about $175 to make a new one for my project horn, should I decide one is needed.
