The best stuff is probably microcrystalline wax, used by museums for preservation. Expensive, though.
Don't use one-step paste carwax--it's got abrasives in it (to remove oxidied paint) (though if you're bent on using brasso on that beast, it wouldn't matter). A good non-abrasive carnuba paste was is the next best thing, IMHO.
