It is my understanding that the Willson front action horn was based on if not an exact copy of a Marzan euphonium design. I've not played one but I've been told that they were much more accurately described as a true tenor tuba rather than as a euphonium. Apparently they had a tuba like response to them and a very dark sound(Marzans tended to be dark). Personaly, I like a relatively bright sound from a euphonium.

Anyone have more direct experience with this?
