Charles Daellenbach of the Canadian brass had one without the fifth rotor. Chester Schmitz was trying to sell it for him as a favor and past this info. along to me when I was looking for a horn 3 years ago. He said that Chuck didn't like fifth valve because it played much more open for him without it. Apparently, this horn was customed made for Chuck where the fifth valve was detachable when he didn't want to use it, which was most of the time. Where that horn is now, I don't know. You may be able to e-mail Chuck from their web site at www.canbrass.com and ask him about it. Good luck!

Ken
